ADLINK Technology Inc., a global leader in edge computing, has introduced a new generation of hygienic medical monitors from the ASM (ADLINK Surgical Monitor) series. With up to 4k/UHD resolution and a 43” screen diagonal, these touchscreen monitors, which can be operated using surgical gloves, are optimised for everyday clinical use. The hygienic housing, which features a patented design with no external screw connections aside from four essential Vesa mounting holes on the back, eliminates superfluous screw heads that can accumulate dirt or cleaning fluids. The antibacterial coating also eliminates up to 99.9% of E.coli bacteria. These IP 54 protected monitors are mainly used in the operating theatre, the emergency room and for diagnosis purposes in intensive care units and quarantine wards.
“After the launch of our panel PCs featuring a screwless design, it was a logical extension to replicate this innovation in the ASM monitor series, so that Covid-19 viruses, multi-resistant hospital germs and other dangerous pathogens have no chance of survival”, explains Matthias Lubkowitz, Head of the Healthcare Business Centre at ADLINK Technology. “ADLINK’s Surgical Monitor series with aluminium housings is also clearly distinguished from other monitors that have housings made of comparatively simple plastic and recessed display panels. This underlines ADLINK Technology’s claim to be a world leader in the field of medical monitors and panel PCs.”
Other special features of the medical monitors from the ASM series include a hardened, full-surface protective display glass at the front. This is connected to the display by liquid bonding, which eliminates internal reflections and thus ensures the best possible picture quality. In addition, the protective glass is anti-glare treated on the front, minimising reflections on the surface and ensuring good readability at all times, even in adverse light conditions. The surface finish has not been vapour-deposited but instead etched, which makes the anti-reflective protection resistant to abrasion and scratches – in the long term, it can withstand frequent wipe disinfection without wear. This protective glass covers the function keys, facilitating practical operation. Numerous other functions allow the display to be adapted for individual viewing habits and clinical applications such as shock room, operating theatre and anaesthesia to intensive care, ward, radiology and diagnosis./p>
The MDR Class I monitors from ADLINK Technology’s ASM series conform to EN60601-1 and EN60601-1-2, come in 24”, 27”, 32” and 43” sizes, and are available for an extended period of at least five years. Customers can choose between Full HD (1080p) resolution in 24” and 27” or UHD/4k at 27”, 32” or 43”. The monitors are available ex stock in Deggendorf and can be ordered by any clinic from a batch size of 1. Complementary medical panel PCs are also available so that multi-head systems can be expanded with an identical look and feel and with minimal cabling effort. On request, ADLINK Technology manufactures OEM variants for medical equipment manufacturers and providers of mobile cart solutions for intensive care departments, quarantine stations and ward round trolleys.
